Experienced Quantitative Researcher

Qmulus is expanding its trading activities and we are looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Quantitative Researcher to join our quantitative trading team in the research on existing and new proprietary strategies.

What you’ll do

As a senior quantitative researcher you take initiative in existing and new research projects. You will collaborate with fellow researchers and software engineers to develop fully automated trading strategies. You’re expected to contribute to Qmulus research agenda and actively participate in determining the right research direction. Your work involves analysing and back testing large financial data sets with sophisticated techniques based on statistics, econometrics and/or machine learning. Our research infrastructure with extensive data coverage will aid you in your research and together with our developers you’ll tailor it towards automated alpha yielding strategies as the ultimate objective. What you’ll need

  • A Masters or PhD in Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or other related fields
  • Worked as a quantitative researcher in a trading environment before
  • Proven skill set in effective statistical modelling using econometrics and/or machine learning
  • Preferably a track record or a promising research proposal, e.g. Sharpe 1.5+ and highly scalable
  • Extensive knowledge about trading derivative products, particularly (commodity) futures and US equity options
  • Strong familiarity with a coding language, preferably Python, in both data analysis and development
  • Experience with relational databases, orchestration and a Linux environment is a plus
  • The entrepreneurial skills to build the team and lead your own projects
  • Openness in sharing knowledge, and willingness to guide and explain concepts to others
  • The ability to work at least some days US hours
